TRUE Certification for Zero Waste is a program that enables businesses to define, pursue and achieve their zero waste goals. A TRUE-certified project’s goal is to divert all solid waste from the landfill, incineration (waste-to-energy) and the environment.

The Zero Waste Board Game | Wednesday, November 11 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM ET

Do you want to really dig into the credits of the TRUE certification? Or do you want to explore using games to teach sustainability concepts? Or do you want to just take a break and enjoy a fun game with your fellow professionals? Why not do all three with the Zero Waste Boardgame? Players will learn the credits of the TRUE Zero Waste Certification, how they work together to make a facility more efficient, and how to engage different departments to make zero waste a reality.

Why Bay Area GCs Are Taking A Deep Dive into Their Dumpsters | Wednesday, November 11 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM ET

Bay Area General Contractors formed a coalition two years ago to answer two main questions: With global waste projected to reach 2.2 billion tons per year by 2025, what is the AEC community doing to reduce its numbers? And with construction waste goals growing loftier, how can we work together to optimize waste management practices across jobsites? What they discovered is applicable far beyond the reaches of San Francisco.

SITES is a program that offers a systematic, comprehensive rating system designed to define sustainable sites, measure their performance, and ultimately elevate the value of landscapes.

Beyond the Building: SITES v2, LEED v4 and Climate Positive Design | Thursday, November 12 from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM ET

Outdoor spaces have the ability to act as a carbon sink, helping move us toward regenerative, sustainable spaces. Explore how SITES and LEED are working toward climate positive solutions within buildings and outside of them.

Resilience Rating Systems in Practice | Thursday, November 12 from 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM ET

How do we guide and measure resilience? Explore how SITES, RELi, and other certification programs are making progress across the world through exciting case studies.

RELi is a rating system that takes a holistic approach to resilient design. It can be used to assess and plan for all of the acute hazards that buildings and communities can face during unplanned events, prepare to mitigate against these hazards and design and construct buildings to maintain critical life-saving services in the event of extended loss of power, heating fuel or water.
